For years, Home Drive Mechanics has had one promise: your mechanic comes to you. That promise stays — but we have just expanded how customers can engage with us. From this month, you can choose one of three service modes when you book.

1. Mobile Service — We Come To You

Same as always. We arrive at your home, office or wherever the car is parked, and do the work on the spot. Call-out fees range from R450 to R1,000 depending on your zone, and the call-out is free on any job over R1,500 — which covers most brake jobs, suspension work, and full services. In our Zone 1 areas (Blouberg, Parklands, Table View, Sandown, Milnerton, Sunningdale, Flamingo Vlei) we are usually on-site within 1 to 2 hours.

Best for: time-poor customers, work-from-home households, fleet managers, and anyone who does not want to lose half a day driving to a workshop.

2. Workshop Drop-Off — At Our Partner Colmad Auto

Some jobs need full workshop equipment — hydraulic lifts, advanced diagnostic tools, or just a controlled environment for heavier mechanical work. For those, you can now drop your car at Colmad Auto, our trusted partner workshop at 43 Mansell Rd, Killarney Gardens, Cape Town, 7441.

Colmad Auto are German engine specialists — BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW and Mini Cooper. So if you drive a German car and the job is more involved, this is often the better route. No call-out fee, and you only pay for the work.

Best for: bigger jobs, German cars, customers who prefer dropping the car off, weekend bookings.

3. Fetch & Return — We Collect, Service, and Return

The newest addition. For customers who would rather not be home for a mobile service and cannot drop the car off either, we now offer a full fetch-and-return service. We collect your car from your home or office, do the work either on-site or at the workshop, and return it to you — same-day where possible.

The fetch-and-return fee is quoted per job based on distance and vehicle. Tell us your area when you book and we will come back to you with a firm price on WhatsApp.

Best for: single-car households, busy professionals, customers who want maximum convenience and do not mind paying for it.

The new booking form on our homepage opens with a simple question: "How would you like to book?" Tap one of the three options, fill in your details, and the form pre-fills the WhatsApp message with your selection — so we know upfront how you want to engage.
