Home Drive Mechanics is a mobile car maintenance service operating across the entire Western Cape province of South Africa. We come to your home, office, school car park, mall parking lot — wherever your car is — to perform servicing, brake fitting, suspension work, control arm replacement, pre-trip safety checks, diagnostics, battery replacement and roadside assistance.

Below is a comprehensive list of every Western Cape suburb and town we currently service, organised by zone. Call-out fees are added to your booking based on the distance from our base in Blouberg. All call-out fees are waived on jobs over R1,500 — which covers most service, brake and suspension work.

Don't see your suburb?

If you're in the Western Cape but your area isn't listed above, message us anyway. We regularly travel to Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, Athlone, Mitchell's Plain, Crossroads, Philippi, Lentegeur, Eerste River, Macassar and surrounds. We'll quote you a call-out fee based on distance and you decide whether it works.

How call-out fees actually work

The call-out fee covers travel time, fuel and the visit itself. It is waived on any service over R1,500. So if you're booking a brake job (R1,500+), suspension work (R1,800+), full service (R1,800+) or pre-trip check that turns into work — you don't pay the call-out at all, anywhere in the Western Cape.

The call-out fee only applies to small jobs — diagnostics on their own (R500), jump-starts (R150-R250 plus call-out), single battery checks, etc. Even then, if the small job converts to repair work over R1,500, we credit the call-out back.

Why a mobile mechanic is worth the call-out

You don't take a day off work. You don't sit in a workshop waiting room. You don't pay for a tow truck if your car can't make it to the workshop. You don't pay workshop overhead built into every dealership invoice. The call-out fee is almost always less than the time, fuel, transport and waiting cost of taking your car to a workshop yourself.
